Trailheads
One moment…
Sample: a made-up library system and made-up numbers
What an owner with many places sees: each place and how many journeys have finished there, and a place's picture when it is opened. What a Trailhead is
Ask your community why they create.
A Trailhead is a link and a poster for your counter. People who come into your shop, library or studio scan it and take the journey at Why Do You Create?: about ten minutes on what they make, why they make it, and what gets in their way. You see what your community says, added up.
Bookshops, craft and art supply shops, libraries, studios and makerspaces: anywhere people who make things come in.
What you see
What your community is making, why they make it, and what gets in their way, added up once at least ten journeys have finished. Use it to plan the classes, the stock and the events they actually want.

What you never see
You never see who said what. That's why people answer honestly.
- Anything people type in their own words
- Their conversation with the AI
- Their names or emails
- Which answers are whose
Nothing shows until ten journeys have finished, and then only in groups of ten, so one person's choices are hard to pick out.
What a visitor sees
Before they begin, every visitor is told, and can say no:
Hollow Pine Books shared this with you. They see totals from everyone who finishes it through their link, never your words.
What Hollow Pine Books sees (and doesn’t)
Hollow Pine Books sees:
- The answers people pick, added up across everyone who finishes through their link: what they make, why they create, what gets in the way, what they gave themselves permission to do
- Nothing until at least 10 journeys have been finished through this link, and then only in groups of 10, so one person’s choices are hard to pick out
- How many journeys were finished each month
Hollow Pine Books never sees:
- Anything you type in your own words
- Your AI conversation
- Your name or email
- Which answers are yours
Who else:
Nobody else: for now, journeys through this link are not added to the site’s community page.
What you do
Put the poster up where people wait or browse. We send it to you as a PDF to print, with your link and its QR code. That's all.
How long it takes
Your first picture comes once ten journeys have finished through your link. Until then you see the count. Where a few people a week take it, that is about a month.
What it costs
Free during early access.
Ask for early access
